Cassopolis, MI, August 8, 2022 – Community Health Centers (CHCs), also known as Federally Qualified 2022Health Centers (FQHCs), are key to ensuring everyone can access affordable, quality healthcare in their communities.  They are locally governed by community boards of directors, yet part of a national network serving nearly 29 million people nationwide. CHCs are in every State and US Territory.

CHCs are not ordinary medical clinics; most provide an integrated care model, offering primary care, addiction treatment, behavioral health services, oral health, and pharmacy services. CHCs care for everyone, regardless of insurance status. They are also problem-solvers who reach beyond the exam room to care for the whole person by providing access to information and services to help people deal with day-to-day necessities like food, housing resources, financial assistance for utilities, transportation to appointments, Medicaid enrollment, affordable insurance and sliding fee discount programs.

Locally, Cassopolis Family Clinic Network provides care for nearly 14,000 people in Cass and Berrien Counties at its Cassopolis Family Clinic, Niles Community Health Center, and Niles Community Health Center Dental facilities.

“As part of the celebration of Health Center Week I would like to recognize the incredible men and women who work at our health center,” said Mary Geegan Middleton, CEO.  “We are grateful for their dedication to our Mission of service to members of our community.”
