Cassopolis, MI, November 13, 2014– Cassopolis Family Clinic Network Administration, Board of Directors and Staff, Delta Dental Foundation, Representative Matt Lori, village and county officials, and the general public gathered on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 to celebrate the grand opening of the new Cassopolis Family Clinic facility.
During the Grand Opening Celebration at Cassopolis Family Clinic (CFC), Board of Directors President, Robert Feldman and other speakers reflected on the history of the Cassopolis Family Clinic (CFC) up to the opening of the new facility. A ribbon cutting and community tours followed the ceremony.
CFCN, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit Community Health Center, opened its new health care facility located at 261 M-62, Cassopolis, MI next to the Cass District Library on November 3rd. Not only did the organization celebrate its new facility on Wednesday, but also celebrated its 50th anniversary of providing primary health care to the community of Cass and southeast Berrien Counties.
The new 30,000 sq. ft. facility has 24 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms and a community room. Additionally, CFC now offers expanded services including a patient pharmacy with a drive-up window, a 7 chair dental clinic and integrated behavioral health services. The new facility will accommodate 24 new jobs including 3 additional medical providers who will be able to serve 4,000 more patients.
The total project budget was $7.2 Million. The project is funded by a grant from the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) for $4.4 Million, a $1.5 Million loan from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development and the $1 Million Healthy Community Capital Campaign led by Co-Chair couples Leonard & Sylvia Kanczuzewski and Skip Dyes and Wendy Walker-Dyes. On behalf of the Delta Dental Foundation, Teri Battaglieri presented a $245,000 contribution to CFC to assist with the expense of dental equipment for the new dental clinic during the Grand Opening Ceremony. “The Delta Dental Foundation is extremely proud to fund the dental clinic at CFC,” said Teri Battaglieri, director, Delta Dental Foundation. “With the clinic now providing dental care to underserved children and adults, we can help ensure that they receive the care they so desperately need to be healthy and prevent serious, unnecessary and expensive health problems in the future.”
The total economic impact of the project is projected to be $9 Million in total.
“They say it takes a village to raise a child. I think it takes a community to create a new Community Health Center such as this.
