Cassopolis Family Clinic Network Receives Perfect Score on Federal Site Inspection

Cassopolis, MI, October 4, 2017 – Cassopolis Family Clinic Network (CFCN), a Federally Qualified Health Center providing comprehensive primary healthcare to residents of Cass and southeast Berrien Counties, has successfully completed a site visit from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), ensuring continued funding from the Federal agency.

HRSA, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, is the primary Federal agency for improving health and achieving health equity through access to quality services, a skilled health workforce, and innovative programs including Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) via the Bureau of Primary Health Care. Health Centers receiving grant money from HRSA are required to be compliant with 19 program requirements in four general areas – need, services, management and finance, and governance, in order to receive a continuation of funding. CFCN received no conditions against continued funding for any of the 19 program requirements – a rare achievement.

The management staff at CFCN credited much of the visit’s success to the Health Center’s staff. “Meeting all 19 program requirements, without any conditions against the Health Center’s funding, is a testament to the exceptional people that make CFCN’s success possible,” says Mary Geegan Middleton, Chief Executive Officer at CFCN. “I want to thank the staff, providers, and CFCN’s Board of Directors, both past and present, for their time and dedication to our success.”

For over 50 years, CFCN, has provided primary medical care and related support services to residents of Cass and southeast Berrien County. The Health Center became a FQHC in 2008 and is one of the 39 FQHC organizations in Michigan. CFCN served 12,609 people in 2016, and that number is growing every day, especially with the addition of a new Dental office, Niles Community Health Center Dental, last October.

“We are constantly working to recruit new providers and expand services to continue to increase
access to primary medical care, dental and behavioral health services for people of all ages in
Cass and southeast Berrien Counties,” adds Middleton.

CFCN provides comprehensive primary care, dental, behavioral health, obstetrics and
gynecology, pharmacy, and healthcare enrollment assistance services for people of all ages who
are uninsured, underinsured, covered by Michigan Medicaid and Medicare along with most
commercial insurances.

CFCN is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center.
