Cassopolis Family Clinic Network Donates to Local Food Pantry

Cassopolis, MI, November 15, 2017 – The holidays are a time of family, food, and generosity. “People come to us for affordable healthcare, but their needs are far greater. Many people need food to feed their families,” said Mary Geegan Middleton, CEO of Cassopolis Family Clinic Network (CFCN). This holiday season, CFCN is taking its’ slogan ‘Our Family. Caring For Yours.’ a step further and giving back to its’ community by donating $1,000 worth of nonperishable items to a local food pantry – Helping Hands of Cass County.

The local food pantry provides food to families and individuals in crisis with the mission to provide Cass County residents with emergency food, clothing, medicine or household items. “With the high costs of groceries, the need for food continues to be great in our community,” said Helping Hands Coordinator Mary Tompi. The non-profit organization provides monthly food baskets to over 936 families from Cass County. The organization expects to serve over 1,000 Cass County families by the end of 2017.

Community members interested in donating to the pantry are welcome to contact Mary Tompi at (269) 445-8104. Those who wish to drop off items for the food pantry, they may do so at 142 S. Broadway St. in downtown Cassopolis during the organizations’ business hours. Helping Hands of Cass County is open Monday – Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Current food items in immediate need are: peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, soup, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, and oatmeal.
