A Beloved Doctor Retires After 43 Years

Neil See, M.D.

Cassopolis, MI, January 2, 2019– Dr. Neil See, a longtime primary care physician is retiring after 43 years of serving patients of Cass and southeast Berrien Counties.

Dr. See, originally from Grinnell, Iowa, received his Doctorate of Family Medicine from The University of Iowa Medical College in 1972.  Following his residency, Dr. See was recruited to begin his career with Cass Medical Clinic in 1975, now known as Cassopolis Family Clinic Network (CFCN).  While the name and ownership of the organization has changed, Dr. See’s commitment to his patients and to the community has remained the same.

Retiring at the beginning of this month, Dr. See reflects on his career at CFCN.   “I’ve practiced family medicine in Cassopolis and Niles for 43 years, and have taken care of multiple generations of some families,” said Dr. See.  While Dr. See loved caring for patients of all ages, working with geriatric patients has always had a special place in his heart.  Along with caring for his patients at the Health Center, Dr. See has also cared for over 200 patients of 3 local nursing homes per month.

“I look forward to retirement and the ability to spend more time with my family, traveling, and a few rounds of golf.  I will however miss my patients, the individuals I have cared for the 4 decades I have been at the Health Center,” says Dr. See.   Dr. See would like to thank his wife Shirley and family, CFCN Board of Directors, administration, staff and patients for their continuous support throughout his career.

Cassopolis Family Clinic Network is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, designated a Federally Qualified Health Center. With locations in Cassopolis and Niles, CFCN provides primary care, behavioral health, obstetrics and gynecology, dental, pharmacy, and healthcare enrollment assistance services for the communities of Cass and southeast Berrien Counties. CFCN provides care for people who are uninsured, underinsured, covered by Medicare and Michigan Medicaid, and most commercial insurances. For more information, go to or call (269) 445-3874.
