Cassopolis Family Clinic Network Reminds Area Residents to ‘Get Covered, Stay Covered’ as Open Enrollment Gets Underway

Cassopolis, MI, October 31, 2017 – With new enrollment for health insurance beginning Wednesday, Nov. 1, Cassopolis Family Clinic Network (CFCN) today announced its free in-person assistance to help residents understand the range of affordable and accessible options.

Residents in Cass and southeast Berrien Counties can call Cassopolis Family Clinic, (269) 445-3874, or Niles Community Health Center, (269) 262-4749, to speak to a knowledgeable guide who will explain the open enrollment process. In-person assistance is available for anyone already insured through the Health Insurance Marketplace — or those who are uninsured, underinsured, or simply want to explore additional choices.

“Michigan residents need to know just one thing as health insurance enrollment gets underway: It’s easy to get covered and stay covered,” said Mary Geegan Middleton, CEO.  “Free in-person assistance is widely available, and new plans and programs such as the Healthy Michigan Plan can make health insurance affordable.”

“Anyone who already has health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace should stay covered,” Middleton said. “Anyone who doesn’t have health insurance needs to get covered.”

CFCN would also like to remind residents about the following:

  • Anyone who already has coverage through the Healthy Michigan Plan, Medicaid or MIChild must renew at least every year; they can look for information in the mail from the Michigan Department of Human Services about renewal.
  • Anyone with coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace can keep their plan or shop for a new one.
  • Renewal must take place between Nov. 1, 2017 and Dec. 15, 2017— so it’s important to not delay.
  • Anyone lacking health insurance must get covered.
  • Those who are uninsured should review options, check to see how much financial help is available, and choose the coverage that meets their needs and fits their budget.
  • Visit Healthcare.gov to enroll or renew online.
  • Visit MICoverage.org to learn more about coverage options in Michigan.
